Clone - Description
3C7 reacts with the 55 kDa low affinity (a chain, p55, CD25) IL-2 receptor subunit which is expressed by activated T and B lymphocytes from all mouse strains tested. The IL-2 receptor a chain (IL-2Ra) by itself is not a signaling receptor. However, the IL-2 receptor a chain can combine with IL-2 receptor b chains and gc chains to form high affinity, signaling receptor complexes for IL-2. Resting T and B lymphocytes and resting and activated NK cells do not express CD25. CD25 is transiently expressed at a low level during normal B-cell development at the Pre-B or Pre-B-II stage in the bone marrow, and it is expressed at a higher level during a very early stage of T cell development in fetal and adult thymus. The 3C7 antibody recognizes a CD25 epitope which is distinct from that recognized by the 7D4 antibody. The 3C7 antibody blocks the binding of IL-2 to CD25.1
Clone - Application
Flow Cytometry: Purified and PE- 3C7 are useful for immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometry.
Neutralization: Purified NA/LE™ 3C7 is useful for neutralization.
