PIKA Weihenstephan™ FastOrange™ B Ready-to-Use Tubes provide a formulation of PIKA Weihenstephan™ FastOrange™ B Broth optimized for detecting microbial contamination in the production area from swab samples. With one simple test, brewers can monitor the hygiene status of the production site. Beer spoilers such as acid producing Lactobacillus and Pediococcus are easily detected by a color change from violet to yellow upon incubation. Anaerobic incubation is unnecessary, even for beer spoiling bacteria. PIKA Weihenstephan™ FastOrange™ B Broth can be used on its own to detect beer spoilage organisms, but is also qualified for use upstream of PCR detection for more rapid results.

• Acetic acid bacteria (Acetobacteriaceae) such as Acetobacter and Gluconobacter
• Anaerobic beer spoiling bacteria such as Pectinatus and Megasphaera
• Indicator bacteria
• Beer spoiling yeast such as Dekkera (Brettanomyces); Brewers’ yeast is suppressed
