Description: |
CD205 is a 210 kD C-type lectin transmembrane protein, known as DEC-205. It belongs to macrophage mannose receptor family and is found at high levels on dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells. Unlike murine CD205, human CD205 is also expressed at low levels on T- and B-cells, NK cells and monocytes. CD205, serves as an endocytic receptor, functions in antigen uptake/processing and clearance of apoptotic cells. |
