Tris is commonly used in buffer solutions in biochemical and molecular biological research.  This primary amine has an effective pH range of 7.0 - 9.2 and is reported to inhibit a number of different enzymes, limiting its usefulness in protein studies to some extent.  This tris base buffer is provided in powder form.
